# Kisspeptin studies, in company

> Real TRT reading list — The Real TRT reading list: published kisspeptin papers on discovery, testosterone, hormone responsiveness, repeated exposure and sexual desire.

**Reading list**

The early response is more interesting with the later experiments beside it.

## Testosterone and responsiveness

The [early healthy-men experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16174713/) and the [kisspeptin-10 pulse study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21632807/) are the natural starting pair for the testosterone question. I would then put the [nonresponsive hypogonadism cohort](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25226293/) beside the [men studied after reversal](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27214398/). The contrast in responsiveness gives the attractive initial finding a much more interesting setting.

For the earlier history, the [KISS1 melanoma paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8944003/), [puberty genetics](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14573733/) and [animal work on GnRH release](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15665093/) belong in the same conversation, with their different populations and experimental models intact.

## Receptor and brain studies

Removing the [repeated-exposure study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19820030/) would make this collection much less useful to me. Read it alongside the [continuous-infusion experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24517142/) and the [receptor pharmacology review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25765628/). The [intranasal study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40215751/) asks a separate question about delivery.

For desire, the [male randomized trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36735255/) and [attraction-cue imaging study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32051344/) sit well beside the [anxiety trial](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40036336/). The [sexual-dysfunction review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40189467/) discusses the psychosexual prospects, while the [systematic review of clinical status](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38265397/) surveys the broader reproductive applications. Their conclusions have the dates and search limits of the publications themselves.

At Real TRT I scrutinise published research on kisspeptin and testosterone; this is an editorial site rather than a treatment business, and none of it is medical advice.
